ABOUT SPiCEevents

Trey Parker: "I started SPiCE events in the spring of 2001 with
then was a recent discovery of Pier 63. Pier 63 and The
Historic Frying Pan Light Ship though had been there though
since 1996. Sometimes great secrets stay hidden for too long
in NYC. This being such a large undertaking I had started I 
invited two other individuals to join me. One being Reba Perez
whom had brought me on with her milonga (a weekly Tango dance)
at "You Should Be Dancing".

In early 1994 Reba started Empire Dance Studios and left SPiCE
but we still jointly hosted SALSAnite at clubCACHE. Then in
November 1994 Reba being so busy with her Empire Dance
dance studio left clubCACHE also.

Then in 1995 my I developed major problems with my back.
This ended up requiring two major surgeries, that put me on my
back  for a year. SALSAnite @ clubCACHE I sold to DJ Joey and
have been in physical therapy since.

So all of SPiCE's Events from Tango, Salsa, Swing & Brazillian
have came to a streching halt till I am fully back on my feet -
literally, though Tango in Central Park & South Street Seaport
continue. Those two events I am a co-host and member
of, not the owner."

Trey discovered Argentine tango over 11 years ago which brought
about the love of a large variety of dances including Salsa,
Samba and Swing. Trey noticed a real lack of places to
dance authentic social dances and to experience
culturally centered events in NYC. While there is a plethora
of club promoters, Trey started SPiCE after thinking of the
original Spice trading ships which was a mixture of ethnic
origins, exchanging cultures, traditions and spices wherever
they went. Hence the name is recognized for what has
been happening since the dawning of cultures meetings -
so it continues today as it started in New York City.

Dancing is the SPiCE of life! We hope we can add a little
zest to your life soon here in NYC.

Trey's degrees are in the creative fields and teaches college in
graphic design, film/video, photography, website design
(cannot tell it here! LOL),
marketing, advertising, and image making in
painting, drawing & printmaking. You can see some of my
